SOMEBODY WROTE ME A LETTER

Somebody
wrote me a letter
in long hand
the other day.

He had access
to email
and I know
it was more trouble
for him to write me
the way he did
than electronically.

When that letter
arrived here
with my address
in long hand
it became a priority
in the midst
of a variety of  mail —
some marked URGENT
or OPEN IMMEDIATELY.

I hastened
to get at its contents
and found
that  it  contained words
orchestrated by love.

I truly appreciated his script
and thanked him for his concern
by going to my keyboard.
