CORRECTED

In the early morning light
I thought I saw some leaves
spread out beneath a tree.
But when they scattered
as I came upon them
and flew into the sky
I  stood corrected.

In the early morning light
I thought I saw some birds
being still  beneath a tree.
But when  I came upon them
my presence did not frighten them —
They waited for the wind
while I stood corrected.

I’m corrected quite a lot
about a lot of things.

I think that my  ideas
about the afterlife
will likely stand corrected
after I  achieve it.
