HUNGER

You had a great meal last night.
And folks not far away were hungry.

You often eat very well
while there are beggars nearby.

It has been that way
all your life.

You think about it
once in awhile –
especially when you
see so much food
thrown away.

You give a few dollars
now and then
to help assuage the problem.

You go to sleep at night
thinking about things
that matter to you
and hunger is not one of them.

And you will likely be full
when you die.
