There are others out there
somewhere — most everywhere
doing what I am doing now:
gathering words —
words that make commentary
on what’s inside us
or on what surrounds us.

Some of us describe quite well
while others only babble.
Yet we do it ‘cause we must.

Posterity may pay little heed
to what we have assembled
and most of us have little need
to be remembered.
What we do is akin to breathing —
without our play with words
a part of us would be destroyed.
