A TAD OF OLD AGE ENVY

I wish I was without envy
but do not have the means
to stop its lurking
as I weigh my past.

I read a bit and watch TV
and see so many folks
who’ve done so much.

Too late for me to change my past
I wish I had another chance
to be a better man.

I trust that opportunities still exist
to add a smidgeon to the  goodness in the world
and that I’ll be less lacking.
