AS NIGHT WAS SLOWLY DISAPPEARING

I began my walk
as night was slowly disappearing.
I looked up at the center of the sky
and saw a crescent moon
dissolving its surrounding darkness.
And then the gray above me
took on hues of  blue.
Some eastern clouds
in little pieces
started glowing orange
to harbinger the coming of the sun.
I didn’t think that anything could tarnish
this beginning of another day.
