The line where water meets the sky is indistinct.
It even fades completely here and there.
I see all this while looking south
then scanning east and west across Long Island Sound.
So soon the sun will bring some affirmation to that line
and lift the veil that night began to lay upon this space just hours ago.
And if they’re unseen ships now passing by before my eyes
their stealth will be revealed
as blue replaces gray this day
so calm and wonderful.
