I DON’T REALLY NEED TO KNOW

When the fan blades turn
and bring the AC air down
to cool my too warm self
I feel as if it is God
who is doing the cooling.

Now it may be so, or
it may not be so.

But it doesn’t really
matter much to me
about the mystery
of divinity.

I don’t really need to know
who makes the cool air blow
that flows around my ancient body.

I’m just thankful
and full of gratitude.
