At first light the other day
I saw a long purple cloud
stretching over the horizon
looking like a cigar –
and when the cigar was lit
it turned to gold and then to silver
before it disappeared.

Perhaps God picked it up
and chewed one end
and smoked it.

That’s what I might have done
if I were God. Who knows?

If I were God
you’d likely find me
playing with the clouds & sun.

What fun to be outside at dawn —
to greet the day
before anything goes wrong.
