The other day
as I stood near the pasture
watching  grazing cows
I tried out my “moo”
which I hadn’t tried for years.
It likely made the neighbors wonder
but it evoked attention from one cow
that lifted up her head and studied me
and then returned to munching.
One more “moo” proved effective, too
but after many others
I found myself ignored
and eventually my mooing ceased.
