SAILING IN AUTUMN

Two men
in a small sailboat
move about their lake
in autumn
where
on the shore
the trees begin
their traveling toward winter
wearing colored coats
soon to fall on water.
The air is chilly now
and soon
will be too cold for pleasure,
Will they become
too old for pleasure
when the days again
are long and warm?
