Many physicists recently rejoiced
because what many of them refer to
as THE GOD PARTICLE has been found —
a rejoicing perhaps akin to what
the wise men discovered in Bethlehem.
How this discovery will trickle down
to the likes of you and me
remains to be seen.
We can be pleased that their passions
have been rewarded.
Generally, it is a good thing to be excited.
Far removed from their intellectual prowess
I cannot comprehend the details
of the contributions to their happiness.
But I do know that these physicists will grow old
and I hope their savoring of their knowledge
of THE GOD PARTICLE
will equip them well to handle the inevitable.
